The State Advocates work at the local level to advocate for older adults. Some of the responsibilities of an Advocate are:

  1. Provide two-way communication between APTA Geriatrics and the chapter.
  2. Communicate with APTA Geriatrics members in your state when there are geriatric-related issues, courses, meetings, etc. in your chapter.
  3. Hold at least two activities each year to promote increased awareness and knowledge of PT for the older adult in your chapter.
