The American Physical Therapy Association keeps an online database of Physical Therapists, searchable by zip code and practice focus. You can search for someone with a practice focus of Geriatrics. APTA has joined the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation's Choosing Wisely(R) Campaign, an initiative designed to spark conversations between providers and patients to ensure the right care is delivered at the right time. More than 50 medical specialty societies, including APTA, have created lists of "Things Providers and Patients Should Question" which include evidence-based recommendations that should be discussed to help make wise decisions about the most appropriate care based on a patients' individual situation.
Flip the Script aims to empower people, especially older adults, to speak up about pain. By learning more about pain and how to manage it, patients and families can stay hopeful and feel confident in working with their health care team to develop a plan for the best relief.
