This will be the first of 3 sessions designed to provide applicants to the Geriatric Certification Examination with available resources and recent board-certified specialists insights about the exam preparation journey. The session is planned to be interactive with a Q/A session.

Marangela Prysiazny Obispo, PT, DPT, CEEAA
Dr. Prysiazny currently serves as the Chair for Geriatric Specialist Certification and Advanced Proficiency Pathways for PTAs Committee for APTA Geriatrics. She has been board certified clinical specialist for more than a decade. Her service to APTA Geriatrics has been primarily toward the promotion of resources to facilitate the development of PTs and PTAs to become specialists and advanced practitioners in geriatrics. Dr. Prysiazny serves as an adjunct faculty for St. Catherine's Rehabilitation Hospital/University of Miami residency program in geriatrics and full-time program director for the PTA Program at Keiser University Miami Campus.
Alana Tao, PT, DPT, Board Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy
Alana is a new Geriatric Certified Specialist who successfully achieved her certification in 2021. She graduated from PT school in 2019 from Methodist University in North Carolina and have since been living in Phoenix, Arizona. She has experience in a variety of settings and currently practices in the acute care setting at Mayo Clinic.
