An increasing body of medical research shows mindful awareness training can improve both physical and mental health measures in a range of clinical populations, including in older adults. Physical therapists have an opportunity to integrate mindful awareness principles and practices into therapeutic treatment strategies in order to improve patient outcomes. In addition, healthcare providers who receive mindful awareness training show decreases in stress and burnout, increases in feelings of personal accomplishment and an improved ability to listen and respond to patients effectively. This course provides you with an introduction to mindful awareness principles and practices and their practical application to patient care and self-care.
